Undergraduate Fellows

Designed as a year to learn more about ministry and to serve the college community of Christ Church. This program is open to current 3rd, 4th, and 5th year students at UVA. The undergrads fellows program is an opportunity to spend a year surrounded by the grace of God as you continue your studies at UVA.

Undergrad Fellows Program

We’re very excited to begin a new chapter in our Fellows program, welcoming rising 3rd and 4th years into the program! 5th year UVA students are also welcome to apply!

The Undergraduate Fellows Program is a “light” version of our Graduate Fellows Program, with a commitment of about 4-6 hours a week. Opportunities and responsibilities for Undergrad Fellows are:

  • Attend and serve at the 5pm Service

  • Roles include: chalicing, reading, praying, and ushering, plus helping prepare, serve, and clean up 5pm service dinner.

  • Weekly Book Discussion with Associate Rector Josh Bascom, or other CEC Staff

    • A shortlist of books fellows have read in the past: Grace in Practice by Paul Zahl, The Moviegoer by Walker Percy, & Flannery O’Conner’s short stories.

  • Monthly Community Dinner with various Christ Church Staff and all Fellows.

  • Help organize and lead the Winter College Retreat.

  • Opportunities to serve in our soup kitchen (Tuesdays at 12), or other various local Christ Church missions or ministries.

  • Be paired up with a Christ Church Parishioner for mentoring in your field of interest.

Undergrad Christ Church Fellows will receive a stipend of $1500 per semester.
